Frequently Asked Questions

What does Smart Safe Designs actually do?

We design high quality and reliable intruder alarm and CCTV systems based on your property requirements. Everything is pre‑programmed, tested, and delivered ready to install — saving you time, money, and the stress of setting it up yourself.

Do you install the system for me?

We don’t offer on‑site installation. Instead, we design and pre‑configure your system so it’s simple to install yourself or with the help of a local tradesperson.

Is this suitable for DIY installation?

Yes. Our systems are ideal for DIY installers and first‑timers. Because everything arrives pre‑programmed and labelled, most customers find the installation surprisingly straightforward.

Do I need a power supply for the alarm system?

Yes. Your alarm control panel will need a suitable mains power point. Ideally, this should be a fused spur located close to where the control panel will be installed. For safety and compliance, this must be fitted by a qualified electrician. You can however just use a standard plug socket although this is not recommended.

Once the power is in place, the rest of the installation is straightforward thanks to the pre‑programmed system we provide.

What information do you need from me?

Just a few photos, a simple layout, or a quick description of your property. This helps us design a system that fits your home perfectly. You can email, whatsapp or simply call us.

How long does the design process take?

Most designs are completed within 2 days once we receive your photos and information. We’ll keep you updated throughout the process.

What brands do you use?

We work with professional‑grade equipment from trusted manufacturers such as Pyronix and Hikvision. These are the same brands used by the top security installers across the UK.

Do I need any technical knowledge?

No. Everything arrives pre‑configured, and we guide you through the installation and testing remotely. If you can use basic tools, you can install the system.

What if I get stuck during installation?

We’re here to help. You’ll receive remote support during installation and testing to make sure everything is working correctly.

Do you offer ongoing support?

Yes. We’re here long after installation. Whether you want to add new devices, need help with a fault, or prefer yearly or 6‑monthly remote system checks, we offer ongoing support to keep your system reliable and performing at its best.

Can I add more devices later?

Absolutely. We can help you expand your system at any time — just get in touch and we’ll guide you through adding new sensors, cameras, or accessories

.
Do you cover the whole UK?

Yes. Although we’re based in Bexley, Kent, UK, we design and support systems for customers nationwide.

What if something goes wrong with the equipment?

All equipment is covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. If you experience a fault, we’ll help diagnose the issue and guide you through the next steps.

Is this cheaper than a full installation company?

Yes. By handling the installation yourself (or using your own installer), you avoid high labour costs while still getting a professionally designed, fully configured system.

If you’ve received quotes from installers to supply and fit a Pyronix Enforcer alarm system, feel free to share them with us — we can almost always offer a significant saving while providing the same professional‑grade equipment.
